INTERNATIONAL BAKING
Welcome to International Baking. The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the expansive world of baked goods. This course will touch upon vocabulary and basic baking techniques from many different regions around the world. During this semester, you will prepare a variety of baked goods such as quick breads, yeast dough’s, flatbreads, breakfast breads, pastries, cookies, pies, tarts, cakes, custards, puddings, mousses’ and plated deserts. Although this semester is planned out with regards to what we are cooking, if there is something specific that you're interested in making, let me know and I’ll try to fit it into the semester. We will also touch upon basic cooking vocabulary and measurement equations that focus primarily on kitchen equipment and production in a professional bake shop. Please be aware that on occasion, there are projects that will take more than one day so please do not plan your eating habits around this course.
